Empowering School Psychologists for Global Mental Health

We are delighted to invite you to the 47th Annual Conference of the International School Psychology Association in Lyon, France, from July 8th to July 11th, 2026!

The theme is Empowering School Psychologists for Global Mental Health.

Youth mental health has become a pressing global concern, intensified by recent crises that have disrupted educational systems and increased the pressures facing young people. Schools today serve as essential environments for prevention and coordinated mental health support. Positioned at the crossroads of students, families, and educators, school psychologists play an important role in fostering well-being and inclusion—yet their responsibilities, training, and professional recognition vary widely across countries.

This conference invites researchers, practitioners, and policymakers to reflect collectively on how school psychology can advance mental health promotion worldwide.

It will highlight innovative practices, shared challenges, and inspiring strategies to enhance the well-being of all learners.

Through keynote presentations, academic symposia, round table, posters and interactive workshops, participants will exchange scientific insights, share effective models, and co-design collaborative initiatives to bridge research and practice. Topics will include global stressors affecting today’s students, resilience and trauma-informed education, culturally responsive practice, access to mental health services, and the integration of mental health into educational policy.

This conference seeks to support a shared global mission and to produce tools for dialogue and collective action—supporting the psychological health, resilience, and thriving of students everywhere, while empowering the professionals who make this mission a daily reality.

On behalf of the Local organizing committee,

Laurent Chazelas
